Coronavirus-centric searches have dropped, but volumes remain more than double that of February, Google revealed for the month of June while detailing search trends in India. One of the website ‘s top trending searches was “coronavirus news,” which spiked more than 3.450 percent. Many people on Google have also searched for the vaccine associated with coronavirus. Nevertheless Sushant Singh Rajput was the top trending search topic in the country over June. On June 14, interest in the late Bollywood actor sharply spiked.
As per Google’s revealed trends, coronavirus-related searches over June have dropped 66 percent from May onwards.
Google said in its note that related searches for vaccines remained elevated at more than five times the usual monthly results. These searches include queries such as “Patanjali corona medicine”, “Global vaccine summit”, and “Dexamethasone”.
Trending questions for coronavirus emerged on Google in June were led by “which mask is best for coronavirus?” Several people also searched “how did New Zealand defeat coronavirus?” and “Is coronavirus weakening?”
Goa, followed by Delhi and Chandigarh, was the top ten states where the virus was most searched during the last month.
In June, Sushant Singh Rajput led all the queries on Google on the part of overall trending topics. The actor, 34, was allegedly killed by suicide on 14 June. That has resulted in the sharp spike in his Web searches. Other overall top search queries on Google were regarding the solar eclipse and Father’s Day.
